Welcome to BCNN1’s The Gospel According to Greenleaf Episode #23. This episode is titled, Basie Skanks Resigns from Triumph Church; 53% of Real Pastors Should Do the Same and Revival Will Break Out, and Pastor, You’ve Got a Whipping Coming!

In recent episodes of Greenleaf, we haven’t heard much about Basie Skanks’ poker playing and gambling with the church’s money, God’s money, tithes and offerings given to God. But, in last week’s episode, titled “Silence and Loneliness,” Basie Skanks, the liberal pastor, the false prophet who recently started supporting homosexual relationships and trying to make that his cause getting Grace involved as well, this other secret came to light in a big way courtesy of Jacob’s wife, Kerissa. Fed up with her husband’s lack of income, she goes to her in-laws, Bishop Greenleaf and Lady Mae Greenleaf, with proof of Basie’s scandalous sins. She wants Basie ousted and her husband instated as pastor of Triumph Church — which would of course make her the first lady, with all the rights and privileges pertaining thereto.

Bishop Greenleaf confronts Basie with the evidence and threatens to go to the police if he doesn’t publicly resign and hand the church over to his son, Jacob. Basie is resistant at first of course, but another man, whom we’ve only seen once before, arrives shortly thereafter for the butt whipping of Pastor Basie Skanks. It isn’t shown on screen, but it appears that this man beats Basie up pretty badly. (Perhaps, he is someone Basie crossed in his gambling activities or someone he owes money to. We believe that that is what it is, but we’ll see.) A humbled, broken, and battered-faced Basie then confesses his sins, or at least admits his sins before the church, Triumph, and hands the leadership over to Jacob and Kerissa Greenleaf while Bishop Greenleaf and his wife proudly and smugly look on.

It was indeed long overdue, but Basie Skanks finally did the right thing by admitting his sins in public (without naming them) and stepping down from the leadership position (and then abandoning his wife at the church, and as of right now we don’t know where Basie Skanks is). And, as we have said before, in our humble opinion, over half of pastors in American churches need to do the same, and we believe the result will be an outbreak of revival. We’re talking to pastors who have girlfriends and a wife. We’re talking to pastors who are involved in adulterous relationships. We’re talking to pastors who have a wife at home and a wife at the church. We’re talking about pastors who embezzle money from the church and use it as their personal bank account. We’re talking about pastors who are secret closeted homosexuals and who are undermining the church by allowing homosexuals and even married homosexuals to join the church and serve the church. This is the ultimate abomination. We’re talking about pastors who consider the ministry a profession and not a calling, who are there just to collect a paycheck and get rich off of the little lambs of God. Instead of feeding them, they are shearing them. These amount to about 53% of the pastors in this country. Thank God for the good pastors, the faithful men of God who stand flatfooted and preach the Word of God without compromise, without fear and without favor. We thank God for them. Thank God for the remnant, thank God for the faithful. When a a football team is floundering, we don’t fire the entire team, we fire the coach. When a basketball team is not living up to its potential, we don’t fire the stars on the basketball team, we fire the coach. When a college football team is not doing what they’re supposed to be doing and not winning like they’re supposed to be winning, we don’t get rid of the football team, we get rid of the coach. When a company is not making money and the shareholders are not getting paid, we don’t dissolve the company, we get rid of the CEO. So we are not talking about doing away with the church, we’re talking about doing away with false prophets, liars, and theives who shame the name of Christ and who bring shame upon His name and upon His work and upon His church. They need to resign.

Too many churches are missing out on reaching their full potential for God. They are stifled because of secret sins. We have too many Christians who have secret sins, because we have too many pastors with secret sins. The church is stifled because of secret sins, with much of it coming from the pulpit and other church leaders. Unfortunately, these individuals are unwilling to confess their sins and repent. They want to keep their adulterous relationships, their embezzled money, their big fine houses on pork chop hill and their long cars and their homosexuality, being on the down low, got a female wife and a male wife, a hypocrite, a phony, and a nasty fake. and the many members who are only in the church because the preacher has compromised the Bible, the Word of God, and does not teach the full counsel of God.

Well, the Word of God has a message for them. Just like Basie Skanks, they’ve got a whipping coming. If they don’t repent on their own, they will one day be due for chastisement by God — not from the world, not from the devil, but from the Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t think it’s far-fetched. In the Book of Revelation, we see the Lord dealing with seven churches, each of which save one have their own set of sinful issues that they are dealing with. Repeatedly, the Lord tells them to repent or else.

He says to the church at Ephesus, “Repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

He says to the church at Smyrna, “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them [those who espouse false doctrine] with the sword of my mouth.”

He tells the church at Thyatira, “I gave [Jezebel] space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children [those who follow Jezebel] with death.”

To the church at Laodicea, He adds, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”

Preacher, Jesus is serious about His church being pure and holy. He will not tolerate sin, false teaching, and bad living for long. He will bring judgment on you. Don’t let your church suffer through that. Repent now while you have a chance. If you have set a bad example for your flock, start setting a good example by confessing your sins publicly, to your family, get your heart right with God, get your heart right with your wife, and you might need to get your heart right with your wife first, you need to admit you have a girlfriend on the side. You need to admit you are a secret homosexual and you are jeopardizing her life by having sex with her too every now and then, you lying devil. You need to admit you owe the church over a million dollars. You need to tell somebody. You might need to call the trustees’ board or the deacons board, and I assure you be prepared that they’re going to put the board on you. If you are a child of God, you will confess your sins and repent. If you are a lying hypocrite you’re not going to do this, which lets us know you have never een born again, you have never been saved. If you have set a bad example for your flock, start setting a good example by confessing your sins publicly, and stepping aside for a time to repair your relationship with your wife and your family, and most importantly, with your Lord.

Let’s Pray

In closing, if you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, allow me to show you how you can be forgiven of your wicked sins of the past no matter how dark, God is available to hear your prayer of confession and to hear you ask to be saved from sin and from the punishment of sin which is eternal hell and separation from God. And you can begin a light-filled relationship with God Almighty today.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s laws. You have done some bad things. You have broken the commandments of God. So have I. And so has the Pope. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” We die physically because of sin and we go to hell to burn forever, to be tormented forever because of our sin. God does not put us into hell; we put ourselves into hell because of our sin.

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ, the loving Lord of glory, preached more on hell than anybody in the Bible. He preached more on hell than he did about Heaven. He said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Now that is bad news, and I know most people do not want to hear any bad news. But you have to hear the bad news because the good news is good news because there is bad news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins. He is the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world, your sins and mine. And all we have to do is trust Him and believe that He died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you and me so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

And please believe these words found in Romans 10:9 & 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Saved from what? Saved from sin and the punishment of sin which is hell.

If you believe in your heart on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer and mean it from your heart: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life — even some of the sins being brought out in this show called Greenleaf. I am sorry for my sins, and today, please have mercy upon me a sinner. I believe with all of my heart that You died for me, was buried, and rose again. Now, Lord I pray that You would fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins and to follow You for the rest of my life for Your glory, praise, and honor, and, from this point on, to be the shining light that You want me to be. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, and for His sake, Amen.

Beloved friend, if you just trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, and you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, I declare to you that based upon the Word of God, you are now saved from Hell and you are on your way to Heaven. Welcome to the family of God! Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is trusting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
